Rods, Shapes and Tubing – Customised and In Stock
Unasco manufacture a wide range of extruded components. From stock shapes in a wide range of materials to specialised tubing and custom shapes, Unasco have the capability to manufacture almost any product using extrusion technology.
Unasco extrude materials using state of the art machinery, some of it custom built for the purpose. Materials range from fluoropolymers to thermoplastics. Materials can be extruded with ultra-thin wall sections or solid billets and shapes can be extruded.
– Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
– Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA)
– Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP)
– Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE)
– Glass and mineral filled PTFE
– Carbon or Graphite filled PTFE
Extruded rods, tubes and other profiles are ideally suited as a raw material for machined components where tailored surface properties are required.
Unasco extrude Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) tubing for use in applications such as lighting components, automotive push/pull cable sleeves, as well as medical applications. FEP tubing has unique properties which include hard scratch resistant surface, high chemical resistance and easy formability. These properties make FEP tubing ideally suited to engineering and automotive applications.
Small diameter thin wall tubing can be extruded using state of the art equipment at the Unasco plant.
Unasco Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) spaghetti tubing is unaffected by a wide range of ambient temperatures, pressure, altitudes and humidity. It is moisture and abrasion resistant at high and low temperatures, completely serviceable from -267 degC to 288 degC, more than 100 degC above other spaghetti materials. PTFE, a Class S dielectric, has excellent dielectric strength and one of the lowest dissipation factors of any solid dielectric. PTFE spaghetti tubing does not become embrittled due to aging under environmental temperatures and its heat resistance permits use in many high temperature applications.
